Making Money With Web Videos Just Got Easier…
April 28, 2008 3:56 pm Future ProfitsI’ve created this special Blog Report to bring you something new in the field of making money with web video. I’ve split the report into past, present and future…
The PAST:
I remember when someone sent me an email with a very harsh tone because I had dared to use a background image on the ScamFreeZone homepage. Why were they annoyed? Well, it turns out that the graphic I used was a bit on the large side, and this guy was mad at me because I was forcing him to use bandwidth he was paying for to download my background image.
Sound crazy? Well, this was in the 1990’s when most people were on dial-up modems and a lot of people were on “pay as you go” plans. The fact is, I was costing that guy money with my “fancy” background graphic, and I took it down pretty fast. Most of the web was text based, and graphics had to be crunched through special software to shrink them to their absolute smallest size possible.
The PRESENT:
Nowadays, people are happily “surfing” at Megabit speeds on “all you can eat” bandwidth plans and paying about the same for the service as we were back in the Internet “stone age”.
The revolution in access speeds and bandwidth usage was directly responsible for the success of Youtube. I’m certain that many, many people had thought of using video online, but the bandwidth costs were just too high. People on dial-up modems wouldn’t even be able to watch movies in real-time anyway, so no-one bothered to create a Youtube. Basically, YouTube was mainly successful because of the timing. It wasn’t WHAT they did, but WHEN they did it.
Now you can see many successful marketers using video. Heck, I used it with my wife during our recent product launch. But I know that video can be used much more professionally, and look a lot better… I just didn’t know how to make “professional” videos.
Fortunately, a guy called Dave Kaminski let me know about his Web Video University and let me take a look at the movies. Wow. My jaw hit the floor. Dave absolutely knows this web-video stuff inside out. In just a few short movies he had explained to me the “ins and outs” of professional lighting, audio, using green-screen and how to make your own teleprompter in under an hour.
It’s been a long time since watching a few short movies has given me such a huge amount of quality information. I strongly suggest that you sign up for Dave’s movie-based course. Even if you don’t want to present movies, you can use the information he gives you about adding special effects, music and voice-overs to create movies that you don’t even appear in… and you can use those movies to make money… which I’m getting to…
The FUTURE:
Video has moved into the mainstream.
Video is a wave that you can ride to the bank… and I’ll explain how…
If you take Dave’s course, you’ll be able to create professional-looking movies. That’s important because amateur movies were acceptable while everyone was fooling around with the concept of creating movies for the Internet. But, just as that guy got annoyed with my large background image back in the 1990’s, people will start getting annoyed with amateur movies… the time of bad audio and no special effects is ending.
My other strong suggestion is that you go directly to Customer Review Videos and sign up. There is a $20 per month discount if you sign up during April 2008 and use the coupon code “april2008″. At Customer Review Videos you can build webpages around your videos… add Adsense, eBay, Digg, Amazon, Google Search and many other links to your pages with just a few mouse clicks. The movies that you make will be embedded in the pages that you build, and you can monetize those pages in many different ways.
Can you see the power of this system?
You can make a quick *professional-looking* video using the information from Dave’s course, upload your movie and then log in to your Customer Review Videos account and with a few clicks create a webpage around your movie complete with many different monetization methods.
Using the two strategies in concert… both the professional video creation and the service that Customer Review Videos provides to wrap web-pages around your videos is an excellent way to break into the affiliate marketing business.
Although I don’t like hype, I do need to let you know that the $20/month discount at Customer Review Videos is only good until the end of April, and Dave’s course runs monthly, so if you haven’t grabbed a place by the end of the first week of May, you’ll have to wait until June before the doors open again.
What do you think? Do you like the idea of making and monetizing videos? Do you see the power of bringing together professional movie creation with a simple “point and click” system for monetizing movies? What about the idea that the biggest profits are made when you see and act upon a new opportunity? Is Future Marketing Profits the way to go? ![]()

It sounds good Neil.
I’m getting into video… I prefer to leave this to my VAs because I am a technical “no-genius”…
Video will become (if it’s not already) one of the main way to drive traffic to one’s website.

Thank you for the report, Neil.
I use a 256K Baud and an old computer.
Playing videos on the web is a long process. Either it is jerky or I have to start the video, pause it and do something else for a while.
Downloading a 50 Meg or 100 Meg video is chancy. My computer tends to turn off or reboot.
As a file vendor, I want to be able to offer both a PDF file and a video. Maybe the video should be chopped up and reassembled after download.
What about someone wanting to be out in 10 minutes who decides to download a video? I think it is appropriate to give the purchaser a chance to return later to do the download.

Having worked in TV for a long time, I can only stress that internet marketers are going to have to learn to express themselves in much shorter videos. If TV is anything to go by, 2-5 mins. is probably the optimum.
Remote controls didn’t become this popular for nothing.

Hi Neil,
I have NEVER been a fan of video on the Internet. Whenever some video comes up I immediately search for the “STOP” button to turn it off. If there isn’t one, I leave the page.
But, my partner said, “Well, maybe you HATE video, but a lot of people don’t, so get over it, and do video”.
I teach HTML and CSS Web Design. I have an ebook, and teach online in my Hot Conference room. No need for video, right? because I can take my students onto my desktop and they can watch LIVE while I show them how. But, what about the others who want to learn at their own pace, leisure etc. hmmmmmmmm.
I’m going to give doing video tutorials a shot, even though my previous attempts have been less than productive.
Thanks for the great post. I’m going to give it a GO!!!
All the best,
ClaireP

Frank,
Are you referring to Virtual Assistants? If so, they are doing your web videos? If so, can you let us know who they are?

Video’s are really the future of website creation.
Those that still have dial up have to wait quite a while for the video to load.
Someone will come up with a great option, maybe it will be you.
Thanks for all the great info.

Sounds good but I bet that there is a cheaper way to learn this! Like using Windows Movie Maker that came with my computer for starters!

Some damn good advice Neil Being a avid film maker myself your right, they are as you said going to have to be more punchier, creative, and
succinct for most future audiences.

Internet is becoming the source of information, new discovery and innovative ideas. You have cracked the deal Niel! This is the new wave of attracting customers and keep them coming back to your website as long as the contents are appealing. I would consider taking a course in future. Thanks for sharing your idea with us.
Charles.

Perfect timing Neil. I am planning to produce a video to use as free content for an upcoming product launch. I’ll certainly check out the course you’ve recommended.
Cheers

Hi guys,
‘identifying new opportunities is the way forward’
This is self evidently true, nevertheless there is benefit in restating it.
However these two sites provide examples of ‘all that glitters is not gold’.
Someone invests time effort and money to build their ‘Web Video University’ but, as any visitor will discover it fails at the first hurdle — its too slow to load (I’m on 100 Mbps). Guaranteed to generate frustration not traffic.
CustomerReviews.com $69.95 per month mmmmm wow what a generous offer… definitely an oversold and underwhelming proposition.

Neil,
You asked us to comment on whether identifying new opportunities in your blog is a good way to go. Absolutely, especially since you tend to be more “clued in” to new opportunities. But beware, if all you do is promote your own affiliate sales under the guise of new opportunities, then you’ll lose credibility. Having followed you for awhile, I seriously fall into that trap.

I just read my own post - and need to point out that what I meant to say was that “I seriously doubt that you’ll fall into that trap.”

Hey Carol - good point there.
I also thought of Microsoft Power Point, after watching W V U ’s sample presentations. I’m sure this type of effect can easily be achieved through Power Point. It would certainly work out a lot cheaper, - probably with a steeper learning curve though ;¬(

Neil, Someone at work showed me this opportunity - it’s GREAT! I hope you don’t mind that I invited myself to your offer? I provide Art Prints at
http://www.ColorfulAbstractArt.com
and I’ll have to figure out the best way to use video for my art- thanks again.

Excellent post but I’ve come to expect nothing less, Dave’s course is definiately within reach of a lot of folks. Those still on the fence need to reconsider Video is the Internet these days. One is hard pressed to purchase date in a written format excluding emails. Personally I don’t care for it I would rather read off of a nicely done page but even I must bend.

I too think video is the wave and you are right I am already tired of the amateur videos out there and agree effects is a must but I hear a lot of grumbling about people on dial up and it being so hard to see and watch the videos and that is what my website is all about the internet is about to change where everyone will have enough bandwidth no matter where they live and dialup will just be part of our past like pay as you go… thanks for the memories not that I would ever want to go back to the past! I think you are right we better get good at making professional-looking vids think I will check this out!
